A valued client since 1997, the West Knox Utility District (WKUD) in Knox County, TN, selected GRW to design a new 6 MGD wastewater treatment plant to replace their existing 4 MGD facility. GRW worked with WKUD to complete the site evaluations and acquisition, NPDES permitting including reservoir water quality modelling, and process evaluation. The new 6 MGD (15 MGD peak wet weather) Melton Hill facility is a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) wastewater treatment plant. Work also included a new 15 MGD transfer pumping station. This multi-faceted project includes several components with combined construction costs of approximately $72 million.
